Donni Young
Attorney Young joined Early, Ludwick, Sweeney & Strauss in 2006. She graduated from Loyola University School of Law in 1989. Ms. Young has participated in litigating over 1500 individual and cumulated Louisiana asbestos claims against manufacturers, distributors and employers/premise owners, as well as officer/director liability resulting in numerous multi-million dollar settlements. Illustrative cases litigated by Ms. Young include: Booth v. AC&S, et al, Janitor suffered exposure to asbestos in public school and at Avondale Shipyard; Blackard, et al v. AC&S, et al, Physician suffered exposure to asbestos in Louisiana public hospital and Virginia teaching hospital; and Andrew A. Patrick, M.D. et al v. Board of Supervisors of Louisiana, et al, Physician suffered exposure to asbestos in Louisiana public hospital.
Ms. Young also has experience in class action litigation. Ms. Young was a member of the Plaintiffs Executive Committee for In Re: Bridgestone/Firestone, Inc., ATX, ATX2, and Wilderness Tires ; Products Liability Litigation, MDL 1373 (USDC SD Ind. Indianapolis Division). Ms. Young was class co-counsel for five federal putative consumer class actions regarding usurious credit card fees, credit reporting issues, consumer protection issues, and binding arbitration issues, including White v. Imperial Adjustment Corp. , CA 99-3804 ( USDC E.D. La.) and Vigil v. Sears National Bank, CA 01-2690 (USDC E.D. La.). Ms. Young acted as Plaintiffs' Liaison Counsel for In Re: Masonite Corp. Hardboard Siding Products Liability Litigation, MDL 1098 ( USDC ED La.).
