Available Position - Litigation Paralegal
ELSM Law is seeking a litigation paralegal/legal assistant in our New Haven office. The ideal candidate will be responsible for assisting attorneys in all stages of litigation matters. This candidate should feel comfortable conducting research, doing data entry, scheduling, maintaining case files, communicating with clients, witnesses and experts, and completing other administrative tasks, as needed. Responsibilities:
- Assist with case management and work-up from intake to trial
- Organize and file pleadings on LexisNexis File & Serve, CT Judicial Website and/or federal Pacer system
- Coordinate, schedule and track discovery deadlines, hearings and other events for attorneys

Available Position - Law Firm Receptionist
ELSM Law is seeking a compassionate, organized, and highly professional receptionist to serve as the first point of contact for our clients and visitors. This role is essential in creating a welcoming and supportive environment, particularly for individuals and families navigating serious illness and sensitive legal matters.
Location: New Haven, CT
Schedule: Monday - Friday, 8:30 AM - 5:00 PM
Responsibilities:
- Greet clients and visitors in a courteous, empathetic, and professional manner
- Answer and direct incoming phone calls with care and efficiency
- Communicate with potential clients and family members, often in emotionally sensitive situations
- Scan, upload, and accurately name documents within cloud-based Doc-Star system
- Prep in-house sales packets and materials for law firm front line attorneys, paralegal and advocates.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and professional front office environment
- Provide general administrative support to attorneys and staff as needed
Qualifications:
- Friendly, helpful, and professional demeanor with strong interpersonal skills
- Ability to interact with individuals facing serious illness with empathy and discretion
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Outlook
- Experience with scanning and organizing documents in cloud-based software

Available Position - Client Acquisition Attorney/Litigation Support (hybrid)
ELSM Law is seeking an attorney client acquisition representative. We are looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Attorney to join client acquisition our team. This unique position combines sales responsibilities, focusing on client acquisition and onboarding in a competitive environment with peripheral legal and medical knowledge and understanding. The ideal candidate will possess have a minimum of 2 years legal experience in the asbestos area of law, strong communication skills, a very flexible work schedule, a background in legal processes and/or medical care (and/or ability to learn key legal nuances), and a passion for client service. While the primary focus of the job is client acquisition there will be some traditional litigation support work worked associated with role - 70% client acquisition/30% litigation support.

Qualifications:
- 2 years of previous experience in asbestos law

- Proficiency in legal research tools and CRM software (or ability to learn these tools)
- A background in health care (especially oncology) or working for a plaintiff’s law firm is a plus

Attorney must have strong research and writing abilities. ELSM Law has an extremely active asbestos docket and is looking for a new associate ready to take on substantive work immediately, including research, writing, client contact, court appearances and oral argument.
